Jenson Button is Officially a Member of Team Vodafone McLaren Mercedes

The news that Jenson Button had signed for McLaren was broken sone time ago, but he was contractually tied to Brawn GP (now Mercedes Grand Prix) until the New Year.

January 1st 2010 saw the official McLaren Twitter account @TheFifthDriver post a photo of 2009 F1 World Champion in Team Vodafone McLaren Mercedes colours – welcome Jenson, here’s to the 2010 season.

Jenson himself has recorded a New Year’s Message which can be seen here.

Speaking of Jenson Button, I have just finished and wholly recommend his book My Championship Year. I bought it a few days ago and finished it yesterday morning – no mean feat with a 19 month old boy full of the Christmas Spirit running around!

Jenson's Championship Book

It’s a race by race diary of the 2009 season with lots of insight into the thought process of a driver leading up to and after a race weekend, and what goes on in between. There’s also lots of quotes and texts from Jenson’s friends. team and one time detractors. Add in a bunch of great photos and it’s a must have for any fan of Formula 1. I’m hoping he does another one this season for his inaugural year at Mclaren.

  1. Great news, I’ve been looking forward to the first official photo.

Now bring on the testing, let’s see what he can do with a real racing car LOL!

It can’t be worse than last year Chris, it was heartbreaking seeing the testing times come in from Barcelona!
